The catalogue is open to all: this is what the lineage holds. Viewing and downloading the files remain reserved for family members, as stated at the foot of every page — any reproduction of the gia phả requires the lineage’s consent.

The register of the lineage, and what derives from it. There is not one gia phả but several states of the same book: the Vietnamese original of the year Canh Thìn (2000), its trilingual redaction, the updates of 2010 and 2020, the French translation, then the pieces drawn from it for reading — the complete tree, the filiation plates — and the data export that feeds the site's interactive tree. Taking the latest redaction is therefore not always the right move: the older states carry entries that the later ones abridged.

Two redactions of the same register, fourteen years apart: that of Đinh Nho Dật (1974) and that of Đinh Nho Chú (1988). Comparing them is the very use of this holding — the second corrects and completes the first, but the first keeps entries the second does not carry over.

中越藥性合編. A comparative materia medica of Chinese and Vietnamese remedies, compiled at the Huế court's command by Đinh Nho Chấn (1863-1935), known as « cụ Hàn Cống », fifteenth generation of the lineage, a tú tài from the village of Mỹ Hoà — today thôn Trung Mỹ, xã An Hoà Thịnh, huyện Hương Sơn, Hà Tĩnh. Selected by examination under the reign of Duy Tân and required to finish the work in five to six months, he began his research and wrote its preface on the fifteenth day of the eighth month of the first year of Khải Định. The imperial preface names those who assisted him: a retired ngự y of the Thái y viện, Phan Văn Mễ, and the Hàn lâm viện for validation. A chữ Nho manuscript in sixteen quyển, held at the Hán Nôm Research Institute under shelfmark A.2702/1 to A.2702/16; volume eight still bears the stamp of the École française d'Extrême-Orient library. Complete photographic reproduction certified by the Institute on 18 December 2023. To this is added the transcription and modern Vietnamese translation undertaken by Đinh Tú Anh, seventeenth generation: tập 1 gives the preface and the start of the table of contents, column by column against the original pages, so that a reader of chữ Nho can check the rendering.

The monographs written ABOUT the lineage, as distinct from the registers that record it. They narrate, they date, they set things in the country's history; the gia phả, for its part, enumerates.

The single pieces: an address read at the ancestral house, the appeal of a study-encouragement fund, a poem of exile. Each stands on its own.
1990address read at the ancestral house
Address by the head of the lineage read at the ancestral house: the meaning of the clan flag and its five colours, its use at the annual gathering and at funerals, and the motto « Tu-Trung-Hiếu-Phúc-Hậu Thanh-kiệm Lạc-Bần; Tiến vi nghĩa sĩ, thoái vi lương nông », glossed for the present day. The text counts the Đinh line at nineteen generations. Penned by tộc trưởng Đinh Nho Quỳ on the first day of the year Đinh Mão (1987), copied in early spring of Canh Ngọ, 1990. One page.
