Đinh Nho Điển

Son of Đinh Nho Tĩnh. Received as doctor at the examination of the Ất Hợi year (1875), he was district magistrate (tri huyện) of Nghĩa Hưng, then Trung thuận Đại phu, Hồng Lô Tự khanh and Biện lý sự vụ at the Ministry of Justice, before being transferred as Biên tu to the National Institute of History (Quốc sử quán).

After the treaties of 1883–1884 that established the protectorate, he refused to serve. He died in 1884: of starvation according to the Memoirs of Đặng Thai Mai, of illness according to ĐTA 2023 ⚠︎ (D-H03). In 1899, King Thành Thái honoured his memory; his temple, known as the temple of Cụ Hường, was listed as a provincial historical monument in 2023.
