Đinh Xuân Lâm
1925–2017 · historian, People's Teacher
Born at Sơn Tân (Hương Sơn), a descendant of the Đinh Nho who left An Ấp for Xa Lang; his generation is not known. A professor of history at the University of Hanoi and People's Teacher, he is counted, with Phan Huy Lê, Hà Văn Tấn and Trần Quốc Vượng, among the “four pillars” of Vietnamese historiography. The press credits him with more than 570 works.
